The Adventures of Robin HoodRichard Greene, Alexander Gauge, Alan Wheatley, Rufus Cruickshank
United Kingdom. Season 1, Episode 16, The Jongleur, aired January 9, 1956. A traveling minstrel upsets the Sheriff of Nottingham and Friar Tuck helps him to escape. Robin Hood can make use of the jongleur to steal some tax money that the Sheriff has raised. Only it is a trap. The jongleur is a spy for the Sheriff, but he has second thoughts when he realizes that Robin Hood genuinely gives to the poor. A nice simple adventure and only gets going when the jongleur's intentions are unveiled.
At 10:13, Archie Duncan plays Little John, and valiantly attempts to
juggle several balls,
even though he clearly has no idea how to do it. The jongleur referred to
in the title of this episode is a traveling minstrel, and not a juggler.
