MacJuggle 1.0.1 Jugit Siteswap for Macintosh 6 October 1996 (c) Copyright 1993-1996 David S. Blumenthal MacJuggle is a simple siteswap juggling animator for the Macintosh. There's a lot of explanation of siteswap available on the net (especially at the Juggling Information Service, see below), so I'll not try to explain it again here. Here are just a few notes on the current interface to MacJuggle. Contact Information ------------------- Dave Blumenthal 100 Tower St. #602 Hudson, MA 01749-1772 blumenth@eng.pko.dec.com http://www.tiac.net/users/blumenth/ References ---------- rec.juggling - a UseNet news group dedicated to discussing juggling and related practices The JugIt Virtual Juggler Home Page (on WWW) http://www.tiac.net/users/blumenth/jugit/ The Juggling Information Service http://www.juggling.org/ Help Files on Siteswap http://www.juggling.org/help/siteswap The "Juggle" Menu ----------------- Site Swap Pattern (cmd-J) Select this to view a siteswap pattern. In the dialog, type in the pattern as a series of space-separated decimal numbers. For example, enter 4 4 1 to view an asynchronous box pattern. Enter 6 6 6 7 1 7 7 7 1 6 1 5 to see a cool pattern Boppo came up with. The Pattern Name field is currently ignored. Hand Pattern Boppo's Mess This is what I used to think Mills Mess was, but Boppo convinced me otherwise. Boppo calls this the "4 point method," I call it Boppo's Mess. Generally used with a "3" pattern, but looks cool with many patterns. Burke's Barrage Designed to go with the "3 4 2" siteswap pattern. Note that while "4 2 3" and "2 3 4" are technically the same pattern as "3 4 2", they won't look right. Use "3 4 2". Cascade The standard "throw inside, catch outside" motion, for all patterns. Mills Mess Generally used with a "3" pattern, but looks cool with many patterns. Note that it's not my fault there's no apostrophe after "Mills" - that's how Steve wants it. Reverse Cascade "Throw outside, catch inside." Good for showers too (e.g. "5 1"). Stationary Hands don't move at all. Try "6 1 2" (approximation of synchronous box). Transfer Also called "the machine." Designed for the "3" pattern. Windmill One hand throws under the other but catches in the normal position. Configuration (cmd-E) Frames Per Hand Pattern Segment Controls the speed of the animation. A higher number gives a slower, more detailed animation. Gravity I'm not sure how the gravity control works, except that if it's 1 the pattern should roughly fit in the window. Sound Toggles the use of sound. Revision History ---------------- 1.0 beta 1, 03-12-95 Initial release 1.0 beta 2, 03-25-95 Fixed Mills and Boppo's respective Messes. I never released this version. 1.0.1, 10-06-96 Updated address information. Second released version.
